Since January 4th Kevin Turner supports the Intermarine team as Senior Chartering Manager. Kevin started in shipping in 2006 and since then gained lots of valuable expertise within heavy lift, breakbulk and project cargo operations.
We took the time to ask Kevin some questions:
What is your focus in Intermarine?
My focus will be primarily to support the line however it is needed, including addressing larger parcels that are normally too large for the liner ships to handle. I am also tasked with trading the IM fleet worldwide when it is necessary, including capitalizing on opportunities with our established client base.
In your view, what characterizes Intermarine?
Is one of, and possibly the, oldest MPP liner services in the world. IM has one of the best reputation of reliability and customer service. They have been through many gyrations over the last decade which has culminated in what today is a management team full of experienced and renowned people. With the backing of SAL, IM is set to flourish.
Your best experience so far?
So far the experience IM has been extraordinary. The knowledge of the IM team is extremely impressive, each member brings to the table something unique and is extremely willing to share so that we can succeed. The management has depth of knowledge and experience that exceeds all others. The management has never shied away from a new idea, and has been willing to sus out any opportunity that presents itself.
