MEET VALERIA
Valeria Oliveira, who began her career in the Container trade, quickly became adept in the Project Cargo and Chartering sector. “Fixing cargo is not about getting the business, but about making the proper cargo combinations to produce positive voyage result. It is this puzzle solving which I find to be the most challenging and rewarding part of the business. Pricing in the freight market is a singular activity, as every cargo has its specific time frame, destination, and demand. No cargo requirement exactly repeats itself so there is always novelty in every quote and trade. This makes it stay fun and exciting.” As Owners Rep for SAL and Intermarine, Valeria will be responsible for both Chartering and Sales and will work closely together with the HQs in USA and Germany.
MEET CARLOS
Carlos Morino wants to Samba and Tango! Originally from Argentina Carlos has relocated to Brazil where he has lived for the last 40 years. He resided both in Rio de Janeiro and in Sao Paulo and has been working for Intermarine for the last 18 years. “It is a great pleasure to join with Valeria and Nelson whom I have known and admired for quite some time. The synergy between us was automatic and it feels like we have been working together for years.” As Country Manager, Carlos will be continuing to provide sales and operations assistance to Brazil and Argentina and will also be guiding the team through the transition.
MEET NELSON
Nelson Teixeira started working in 1982 with foreign trade and throughout those years he worked not only with Shipping but Freight Forwarding as well. “The 4 years of experience I had in freight forwarding, matched with the last 10 years I have spent in the project industry have helped me to better understand our client’s needs. It also acquainted me with many of the local restrictions and requirements in infrastructure and regulation. I have danced in both Carrier and Freight Forwarding shoes and feel very comfortable creating long-term partnerships.” He will be focusing on Sales both in the Project and Steels Sector.
MEET NATALIE
Natalie Jones is SAL and Intermarine’s American / Brazilian power lady. Having started her career with Intermarine in 1992, Natalie brings almost 30 years of experience to the table. She has worked for major break bulk and project carriers and successfully built up businesses. “I have seen all sides of the break bulk and project cargo sector and worked along its highs and lows. I know how much it takes to build up a quality shipping service, and to create that perception of trust and reliability. SAL and Intermarine brings both quality services and a strong fleet along. My aim is to help our customers grow their business through exceptional logistics services. My team and I look forward to meet and greet both old and new relations.” Natalie, as General Manager, will focus on partnership development and management in close cooperation with Intermarine & SAL’s international teams.
